Reineke was born in de Bilt, Holland in 1979 and grew up between de Bilt, the dutch village Bennekom and State College, USA. In 1997 she started her study at the Design Acadamy Eindhoven. Her graduation project was about mapping skin color worldwide. After her graduation Reineke continued to investigate social divisions and urban development in various cities. She worked with trend and brand specialist Pim van den Berg between 2002 and 2006, who introduced her to streetology. Reineke has worked with Pim on a variety of projects ranging from streetologizing 17 cities in France, to a project to discover the visual genetics of a dutch beer brand. Reineke is also a member of the Dynamic City foundation: composed of a multidisciplinary team of sociologists, planners and designers, the DCF researches the rapid transformations of China's urban landscape. With the Dynamic City foundation team Reineke traveled through China in 2004 visiting Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzen, Hong-kong and Shanghai. A selection of her images will feature in the DCF research book "The Chinese dream". Reinekes streetological database includes China and France, and also parts of Africa, United States, Brazil, India, and Surinam. One ongoing project is her UNIFORM project where she has photographed people wearing uniforms In 5 different countries in different continents. Reineke now lives in Rotterdam and after China Daily Life Reineke would love to work on the next catalogue of a new country.
