Have been working as an independent graphic designer with strong crossovers into digital media since 1999. Based in Amsterdam. Am currently rethinking the nature of my practice. I've become more interested in a research-based approach towards social and cultural phenomena in general, and the Chinese urban condition specifically.
This has resulted in frequent visits to China, and Beijing in particular since 2004. See www.remarksfromafar.com for some of the output.

I'm interested in applying my design skills and knowledge of new and emerging technologies to this kind of context. Ultimately I would hope that I can embark on collaborative projects whereby I can contribute both as researcher and designer.
